Five Explorers complete their D of E bronze expedition

Oliver, Jack, Kai, Oscar and Joe – of Vortex ESU and 3 Rivers ESU – have completed their expedition for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. They walked a total of 35 kilometres over two days, across the Essex and Suffolk countryside, starting in Greenstead Green and finishing at Long Melford, camping overnight at Twinstead Scout Campsite.

The group planned the whole thing themselves, from start to finish. This included working out the route they wanted to walk, creating a menu of high energy and lightweight foods, arranging their kit and carrying it all with them.

The whole group did extremely well and have successfully completed the expedition part of their award. They will now look to complete the rest of the sections towards their awards and we wish them the best of luck with this.
