We are now able to offer our Young Leaders in Braintree district the opportunity to complete some of their training modules online via an e-Learning platform. This system was developed by Hampshire Scouts and we are utilising this to enable our young leaders to complete modules B to J online.
Once you have completed the online module, download the certificate at the end and email it to youngleaders@braintree-explorers.co.uk for your record to be updated.
There will still be the requirement for both Module A (mandatory and should be completed within the first 3 months of volunteering) and Module K (first aid) to be completed in person. During your module A session, you will be issued a Young Leader Log Book to record your progress through the training scheme and your Young Leader badge.
We are also looking to offer limted spaces on a BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and Communication, through the Cadet Vocational College, free of charge. Participants will need to be 16 for this particular opportunity, but we are hoping to see this develop and progress! This is still in the early days of setting up, but we are hoping to run a training day for this next Spring/Summer, so keep an eye for further details.
