From September, we will have a leadership change at 3 Rivers ESU. Jody Etherington will be stepping back from his role of unit leader and this role will be filled by Patrick Burns. Patrick will still be supported by Sam Starckey and Matt Barker as assistant unit leaders and the unit will continue to run as it previously did. I am sure you will all join me in welcoming Patrick into the Explorer section and know that Patrick will bring some exciting programme ideas to the unit.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Jody for his time, dedication and leadership of the 3 Rivers Explorer Scout Unit. Jody has been a leader with us for the past 15 years and has continuously volunteered throughout this time for the benefit of the Explorer scouts in Braintree. Jody also held the District Explorer Scout Commissioner role for many of these years too and we are lucky to have had Jody as part of the district team. Whilst Jody will not be as active in Explorer scouts going forward, he has said that he would be happy to help if we ever need him and he will still hold roles in Scouting so I am sure we will see him at many district events in the future. Thank you Jody for all you have done!
