Last night, Patrick Abel – a leader of our Rebels Explorer Scout Unit – was visited by a member of the District Youth Team in Colchester North district to be presented with an award. The award Patrick received was a Commissioners Commendation which was given to him by Milo Thomas who was a member of Patrick’s World Scout Jamboree unit that travelled to South Korea this summer. It’s no secret that the jamboree this year was quite challenging and media reports at the time of the event showed some of the difficulties our young people and volunteers faced whilst they were away. However, it is great to hear that a leader from Braintree Explorers coped with this in an extraordinary fashion and has now been recognised for the support he provided to the young people within his unit. Well done Patrick!!
